

Janet Hazel (Frisby) Binion, age 82, of Moore, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021. Janet was born December 16, 1938 in El Dorado, Arkansas. A graveside service for Janet will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery, 10948 FM898, Whitewright, TX 75491.
Janet was born in El Dorado, Arkansas. She attended school in Mount Pleasant and Daingerfield, Texas. Upon graduation, Janet moved to Dallas where she met her husband Donald. They were married November 27, 1958.
Janet and Don raised their three children in Fairfield and Bowie, Texas. In 1978, they relocated to Moore, Oklahoma. Janet was a caregiver for numerous young children. She was affectionately known as “Nannie” to her only grandson Cary.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents Joel H. and Hazel Frisby; sisters Frances LaPrade and Billie Allen; and brother Samuel Frisby.
Janet is survived by her loving and devoted husband Donald, Moore; daughter Becky Cavnar, Fort Worth; son Brian Binion and wife Beth, Newalla; son Jeff Binion, Oklahoma City; and grandson Cary Cavnar, Tulsa.
Janet is also survived by her twin brother Joel H. Frisby Jr. and his wife Nancy of Oklahoma City; sister Pat Coley of Greenville, Texas; and uncle Roderick Mills of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Janet had many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time friends.
Janet was a homemaker extraordinaire. She cooked from scratch and preserved vegetables from Don’s abundant garden and peaches from her sister Billie’s orchard. She was famous for her King Ranch casserole, buttermilk pies, homemade cakes, jams, and jellies.
In the early years, Janet, Don, and the kids had many camping trips to state parks and South Padre Island with her twin brother’s family. There were hikes, beach walks, campfires, late-night Wahoo games, and lots of laughter.
Janet and Don enjoyed a fabulous Alaskan cruise and travels to Las Vegas, Tennessee, Alabama, and Colorado. Janet was a member of the Hillcrest Presbyterian Church choir and Women’s Circle in Oklahoma City.
Janet was an avid shopper who never missed a bargain at a store, flea market, or garage sale. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, and jigsaw puzzles.
Janet cherished her husband Don; her family; and family reunions. She will be missed by her family and will always be in their hearts.
