

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Janice B. Edinger, 98, passed away on December 19, 2023. Born November 25, 1925 in Dallas TX. She was the only child of Bonnabelle and Thomas Boanerges “Narge” Beattie.
Janice attended Hockaday Junior College and Southern Methodist University where she graduated with a degree in Art. She was an Art teacher in Dallas. She met and married a Yankee from Wayne, Pennsylvania named Charles A. Stewart. He said “I have $500 to my name but if you trust me I think we can make it!” And they did make it!
Trust, Faith, and Love are synonymous with Janice. She did trust and together they raised five children - Bonnie, Marsha, Sharon, Charles and Allison. They settled in Oklahoma City, Ok. She was an Interior Designer with The Village Carriage House in OKC and won numerous awards as a top salesman/designer.
Janice was a member of All Souls Church and served on the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Philomathea Club, Green Thumb Club, and a docent at the OKC Museum of Art. She was a longtime member of a bridge club that provided great joy!
Affectionately known as “Niece”, she was always gracious, kind and loving. Sharing her smile and positive outlook with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was an important daily reminder that good always prevails. With an open heart and joyous laughter, she enjoyed hosting friends and family in her home. Janice fiercely defended her faith and family. God and Love always came first!
Janice was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Charles A. Stewart. They were founding members at All Souls Episcopal Church. She found love again in a second marriage to Ward M. Edinger, and they made their home in Oklahoma City, Ok. She is preceded in death by Ward M. Edinger. They attended All Souls Episcopal and the First Church of Christ Scientist, Nichols Hills.
Janice is survived by five children: Bonnie and husband Carl Gull, Marsha Stewart, Sharon Buchanan, Charles Stewart and Allison Canton. Eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren: Candice and husband, Corey Rennels, children, Riley and Annalee Rennels; Meghan Gull; Carl Gull and wife, Erin, children Carl, Avery, and Oak Gull; Martin Buchanan and wife, Alexandra, children, Cash, Channing and Shepherd Buchanan; Hayley and husband, Kyle Ouverson, children, Rowen, Ramsey and Oxley Ouverson; Katherine Buchanan and child Emory Treat; Stewart Canton; Davis Canton and wife, Josie, child Callie Canton (due February, 2024).
She is greatly missed but as she sings with the angels we are never apart…Glory be to God!
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm, Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Home 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. A Funeral service will at 11:00 am, Friday, December 29, 2023 at All Souls' Episcopal Church 6400 N. Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116.
