Jean was born August 26, 1940, to parents Harold Gallager and Maryanna Ruth (Marler) Murdock. She was born in Pacific Coast, California but moved around living in Oklahoma City, and Sheridan, Arkansas. While in school she completed a GED, afterwards she went on to go to Oklahoma State University for Computer Science.
A perfect day for Jean would be spending the day with her family, and all of her grandchildren. Jean started a family with the love of her life Argus Pitts Sr., whom she was married to for over fifty years. Jean had three children, Mary Black, Argus Pitts Jr., and Gene Thomas Pitts whom she adored dearly. She made sure to teach them everything they would need in life, even tasks as simple as to use a spoon. She loved to listen to Gospel music especially with her family. Jean had a great sense of humor, what made her laugh the most were children being silly and she loved to laugh at her talking poodle.
Jean would want to be remembered as someone who had a kind giving heart, her love for Jesus, but most importantly her love for her children and being a great mother to them. She was a woman of many accomplishments, working at the Gulfstream as a Union Representative. She was a proud member of the Airport Assembly of God and the Purple Hearts.
Though Jean has passed, her light will live on through those that she loved and those that loved her dearly.
She was proceeded in death by the love of her life Argus Pitts Sr., her parents Harold Gallager and Maryanna Ruth Murdock, her first son Argus Pitts Jr. and her second son Gene Thomas Pitts, her sister Vera Maryanna Tarbutton and spouse Douglas Tarbutton of Warr Acres, OK, sister, Alice Lamer, brother in laws; Bill Moore, Perry Payne and Bill Baker and grandchildren Amanda Pitts and Rebecca Pitts.
Jean is survived by her daughter Mary Black and spouse Jim Black of Yukon, OK, sisters; Roxanne Moore of Exter, Missouri, Rebecca Payne of Roger, Arkansas, Patricia Baker of El Dorado, Arkansas, and Victoria Hinkle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was also a grandmother to Jeania Coleman and her spouse Craig Coleman of Blanchard, Oklahoma, John Black and Spouse Holly Black of Moore, Oklahoma, Karla Flecher and spouse Sarge Flecher of Houston, Texas, and Argus Pitts III and spouse Katie, along with eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and lots of nieces and nephews, and fur babies “Poo”, Sassy, and Jake.
