

Jerry Lee Dixon, 73, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2016 in Midwest City, OK, surrounded by siblings & friends. He was born on March 28, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Leroy and Dorothy Arizona (Faulkner) Dixon. He attended Nicoma Park Grade School and Choctaw Jr. & Sr. High Schools. After graduating in 1961, he earned a degree from OU. Jerry was a free-thinking person who was very artistic and took pleasure in drawing, painting and writing. He was an adventurous person who lived in Dallas, TX, and the Virgin Islands and traveled to Europe and Central America. He loved his family very much and no matter where he was, he stayed in contact with family and special friends. Jerry also enjoyed attending reunions from time to time. And he got great pleasure from working in his flowerbed and admiring the blossoms while relaxing on his porch. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Dixon; and grandnephew, Joshua Burns. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Dixon; siblings, Patsy Ramona Skidgel (Murlan), Linda Ann Shelby (Gary), Katherine Rose Koch (Mike), and Terry Lane Dixon; step-sons, Stephen Brower and Wade Brower; nieces and nephews, Renee Skidgel Williams, Denise Skidgel Burns, Suzanne Skidgel Eisenhaur, Tawny Shelby, Shawn Shelby, Aaron Adam, Sarah Adam Chandler, Melisa Dixon, and David Dixon; grand nieces and nephews, Drew Mandelkow, Autumn Burns, Kyle Burns, Adam Shelby, Sophia Graham, Kensley Graham, Garrett Shelby, Lydia Shelby, Grant Adam, and Gavin Adam; and great-grand nieces and nephews, Sam Mandelkow and Bentley Jones; and many other friends and family members who will miss him dearly. There will be a casual Memorial Gathering in the EVENT CENTER at Bill Eisenhour Northeast from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016. Use the Main Entrance. (Not the Chapel)
