Jimmy "Jim" D. West

Jimmy "Jim" Dewayne West, age 76, of Mcloud, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, January 9th, 2022 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jimmy was born November 8th, 1945, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to parents Carl Francis West and Alice Doreen (Beutler) West.

Jim's parents died months apart when Jim was around 5 years old. He then went to live with his maternal uncle, Jim Beutler and his wife Ina, who became his second set of parents. He attended school in Cashion, Oklahoma until he graduated in 1964.

After graduating high school Jim enrolled in the United States Army serving 2 years during the Vietnam conflict. Jim worked several jobs throughout his life until he was hired at Oklahoma Gas & Electric (OG&E) in 1971 as a surveyor and later moved to a position as a mechanic. Jim retired on June 1st, 2000 after a 29 year career with OG&E.

Jim married Patricia Kilmer on November 19th, 1987. Jim and Pat moved to McLoud, Oklahoma from Midwest City in April of 1989. Jim enjoyed mowing and working outside. He loved to spend time with his horses and loved riding with the 89er trail ride group. He was a die hard OU Sooner fan and enjoyed watching the sport of football. He was also a big John Wayne fan and enjoyed watching western movies on T.V. Jim was always fun loving, loved to tell jokes, and was always ready to help others who were in need. He was very well liked by all who met him and had many friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Doreen West; parents, Jim and Ina Beutler (maternal uncle & aunt); and his sisters, Betty Reasoner and Kathy White.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia West of 30 years; brother, John West; daughter, Carlysa Jackson; daughter, Jamie Fromme & husband Ronnie; daughter Alicia Fischer & husband Jeremy; son, Jimmy West II; step-daughter, Kim Ash & husband Donnie; step-son, Kevin Kilmer; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation for Jim will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at the Dale Cemetery, 33550 45th Street, Shawnee, OK 74804.
