Joe grew up in Oklahoma City, later moving to Walters and then to Waurika, where he built the home he loved. A proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Joe went on to become a successful entrepreneur, owning Quality Fence Company and JC Enterprises. He was the inventor and patent holder of the J.C. Forklatch, a design still used by many in the industry. Joe was a guiding mentor to others in the fence business and was known for his keen attention to detail.
A man of many passions, Joe loved fishing, scuba diving, noodling for catfish, and eating peanut M&M’s. He was a former member of Oklahoma Scuba Divers and had a knack for storytelling, often recalling his mischievous college days with laughter. His perfect day was spent fishing and napping with his dog by his side.
Those who knew Joe will remember him for his generosity, his willingness to lend a helping hand, his love of a cold pop from Love’s, his affection for dogs, especially Josie and Coco, and his unwavering love for his mother and daughter.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John P. Landon and John’s life partner, Nancy Reed. He is survived by his cherished daughter and son-in-law, Cortney and Joseph Raffoul; daughter by heart, Kelley Farley and husband Scott; stepchildren, Melissa, Steve, Mike, and Holly; dear twin sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Rusty Amorosa; grandchildren, Landon, Jace, Abbey, Emma, and Liam; as well as many special step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a good friend to many and would want to be remembered that way.
