JPTT had a heart of gold and would help anyone who asked.  I married John when I was 19 and he was 27. During those 5 years, I learned a lot about acceptance of life and responsibilities.  We had a lot of adventures.  John never sat still; he was constantly wanting to do something.  He had such a colorful, full life and anyone who knew him has a funny story to relate about John.  Now that he's gone, I am certain he's already driving a classis Cadillac and is headed to pick up his mom, Fran, so they can go to a fancy restaurant!

Prayers to family of Tarnacki, worked with him at Seagate 26 years or longer.   We always called him by his last name. He indeed was an awesome man, he will be missed.  Lalani Byrd

I have known TURK for nearly 50 years. We met early in our high school years and had a lot of fun and crazy times. He was a wizard with cars and anything associated with vehicles, especially older cars. He even let me drive his '57 Chevy which during a drag race on NW 39th I tore up the transmission. Of course John was upset but only for a few minutes, he was mad we didn't win the drag race! And besides he had a new project, repair the transmission. 

Then there was the time TURK needed a front clip for his '57 Chevy. He found one at Riverside Salvage but had no way to get it home. I had a '69 Camaro so we went shopping for a used pick up, found one at a used car dealer on May Ave. We asked for a test drive and left my new Camaro. The test drive took us to Riverside Salvage west of MacArthur then to TURKS house on NW 21 near Council. Oh yeah, there just happened to be a front clip for a '57 in the pickup bed when we got to TURK's house!! Back we went to the dealership on May Ave to pick up my Camaro. I don't remember what the salesman said but I love telling that story and John always had some details to add.    

One summer after high school graduation the TURK, myself and another good friend shared an apartment. Right across the street from THE RED DOG SALOON!! A lot of the dancers from The RED DOG lived in our complex,we thought we were in heaven!!

A few years later I joined the Navy and moved away but every time I was in OKC TURK opened his door and gave me a place to stay. John was always a warm and friendly person, with a big heart.

As usually happens in life the years went on and we did not see each other much but kept in touch.  About 5 years ago TURK, myself, 2 other very close friends of nearly 50 years began a weekly Sunday breakfast meeting. John was usually the center of attention as he told and retold stories reaching back many years, remembering things in great detail. The other 2 friends had jobs, so TURK and I would have occasional lunches during the week. These went on until about a year ago. I will always cherish and have fond memories of these get-to-gather's   

TURK, I will ALWAYS remember you in my heart and mind. You were a fantastic great human and a most honorable friend.

John was a wonderful soul with a contagious spirit.  He was always positive and uplifting.  John was bigger than life and I'll never forget the day he told me that he "was proud of me" for all that I had accomplished.  It was a compliment that I had not solicited nor expected and I'll never forget it.  He had a way of making you feel good about yourself and it just came naturally from his heart.  Thanks John for the great memories and letting me share in.  some of you life.

John was a good man who found a lot of joy in life.  He was my brother-in-law many years ago, and he remained friendly to my family.  I think he's on a road trip, now, in a really flashy classic car.  I'm glad I knew you, John.  Have a great trip!

R.I.P cousin Flip, you were such a gentle soul. I was just reminiscing on those happy times growing up in Syracuse. I'll be praying for you...
