

Mr. Joseph Henry “Bud” Muir, Jr. was born on February 25th, 1930 in Blackwell, Oklahoma to Joseph Henry and Lois (Brock) Muir, Sr. Following a battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2016 at the age of 86, surrounded by his family. At an early age, his parents relocated to Oklahoma City. Bud graduated from Classen High School where he played football and was a member of the letterman’s club. He attended Oklahoma City University for two years, majoring in business administration. Bud married Clarice Louise Davis in 1950 and shortly after was called to serve in the U.S. Army. The couple relocated to Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, N.C. where he was a Private First Class in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War. He was released after two years of duty, and they returned to Oklahoma City. He worked his way up through the Sears and Roebuck Company to a Merchandise Manager, and retired after 30 years. Bud loved fishing, cooking, gardening, and woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Clarice; Son and wife Jeff and Karen Muir of Colfax, CA; Daughter and husband Jan and Robert McClanahan of Oklahoma City; Daughter and husband Julie and Rick Kern of Piedmont, OK; grandchildren Chelsea and Kierra McClanahan, Katie and husband Kurt Francis, and Mitchell Kern; great-grandchildren Ayden and Gemma Francis. Visitation is planned at Chapel Hill Funeral Home on May 4th from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. A funeral service is scheduled at the same location on May 5th at 2:00 pm.
