This is directed to Stephenie & Jace:  I am probably the person who has known your Father the longest.  Actually, I have known him ever since I was born.  He lived up the street from my family in Wichita, KS, on Socora. My Father Bob Burns was like a second Father to him and Jimmie was like the big brother I never had.  Stephenie, do you remember when we came to your high school graduation and Jack (my husband) brought you the Trans-AM with the $20 gift on the seat, and we put it in the driveway?  Jace, do you remember the car?  You REALLY wanted it.  Over the years I tried to reach out to Jimmie, but never heard back.  I am so sorry to hear that he has passed.  I really wish we could have all got together while he was still alive.  I am thrilled to see that he re-married, it sounds like he was happy! Jim was one of the most caring and kind people I have ever known. 
After his retirement , he returned to volunteer his help to those needing assistance but who were unable to afford an attorney in guardianship matters BECAUSE HE CARED ABOUT PEOPLE.  Jim will be missed but there is a special place in heaven reserved for him.  May the Lord be with Jim on his heavenly journey and with his family  bringing them peace and comfort on his passing.

Although I have not seen him in some time, I have had the pleasure of knowing Jim for forty years.   He was always such a kind and caring person -- always friendly and concerned about others. I was so sorry to hear of his passing, and my thoughts are with you and your family.  My sincerest condolences.  Susan Loving




I practiced law before the Honorable Jim Paddleford and I became a colleague on the bench.  Either way, Judge Paddleford was always kind, patient, composed, knowledgeable and wise.  His friendship was extremely important and I know his family was always foremost in his thoughts.  I too have a "dog carving" that he created and presented to me on the occasion of my court chambers being flooded.  I still have it and it always reminds me of his friendship and camaraderie which was real and meaningful.  Rest in Peace, Jim!  We love you.

I , Jason Barber, was assigned to Protective Services for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office. Judge Paddleford was the first Judge I was given to provide courtroom security for. I worked for Judge from 2005 until the day he retired in 2009. There I met his Bailiff Becky and Court Clerk Josie, we all became friends. It was like my second family. When my son was born Judge gave me several gifts for him. To this day I still have several of his dog carvings that he made and the wooden gavel he’d made. He was a great man, Judge and friend. He will be truly missed

Jim is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Stephenie Theriot and husband Ricky Harrison; son, Jace Paddleford and wife, Kim; stepson, Sean Maples; grandchildren, Rylin &amp; JD Paddleford; sisters, Joan McCollom, Suzi Strauch and Marney Abel.
