Judy Delaine (Perry) Scott was 76 when she was called Home on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Manassas Virginia. Judy was born in Wichita Kansas to Danny Joe (D.J.) and Marjorie (Peggy) Perry on August 5th, 1948.
Judy can be described as fiercely independent, extremely compassionate, and strong-willed. She valued her family and friends above all. Her riches came in the form of relationships and helping others. She was never one to pass up a person in need or turn away a child who had nowhere else to go, often giving away her last dollar to someone else in need. She had an outsized heart and an equally large personality. Her treasures were her family and friends but mostly she valued being called mom and “Nana.” Judy was an avid reader, enjoyed horses, traveling the country with Robert, spending time with her sister Dottie, brother Danny and her cat Tiger. She loved being in the country where she could listen to birds chirp, watch deer, and focus on her relationship with Christ.
In January of 2025 she made the decision to stop dialysis treatments. She still loved life and those surrounding her, yet she was tired, and her body was simply worn out. She yearned for her new, resurrected body and had made peace with her decision to bring this life to an end. Judy was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great grandmother, and friend to so many. She was devoted to her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Wilton Rushing and Robert Scott, whom she loved very much, as well as her father, D.J. Perry, mother, Peggy Mills, and sister, Diane Hansen.
Judy is survived by her sons, Robert and Christopher Rushing; her daughters, Kathy Rushing and Stephanie Oblander; her grandchildren Krista, Amber, Jocelyne, Erik, Jordan, Joey, and Jason; her great grandchildren Lakily, Lane, and Loki; and her sister Dottie, and her brother Danny. Judy was a mother to many others whom she adopted through the years, all of whom cherish her memory.
