

Julian Hayes Wilks, 87, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away April 19, 2015. He was born May 16, 1927 in Alpine, Texas to Presley and Vida (Goodwin) Wilks. Julian served in the US Army during World War II. After his service, he worked for many years as a diesel mechanic. Julian also drove a bus for the Salvation Army for ten years before his retirement. Eighteen years ago, he met and married the love of his life, Charlene. He adored her and loved nothing more than spending time with her. They enjoyed going to dances together. He enjoyed dancing with all of the pretty girls with a smile on his faced, but Charlene was always his favorite dance partner. Julian was also band manager for their country and western band, Oklahoma Country Express, for which Charlene played bass guitar and sang. He enjoyed camping and John Deere tractor memorabilia and also loved going to senior citizens centers. Most Mondays and Wednesdays, he could be found calling Bingo for the Skyline Ministries Prime Timers. Julian loved life and lived it to the fullest. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene; sons, Robert Wilks and wife Tonya, Ricky Spence and wife Terri, Robby Spence, and Kevin Spence and wife Robin; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Julian was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bobbie Pearson; daughter-in-law, Brenda Spence; 2 grandchildren, and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home Chapel Burial will be at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City with a dinner to follow at Douglas Boulevard United Methodist Church, 208 S. Douglas Blvd. in Midwest City.
