June Craig

June Craig, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother & aunt joined her Lord in Heaven on Feb. 27, 2015 in OKC, OK. Throughout her life June was caring, loving, and devoted to her family. She enhanced the lives of many during her 88 years. June was born June 11, 1926 in Sulphur, OK to Ernest Clyde and Ruth Hazel (Harrison) Hicks. She married the love of her life, Wayne Leroy Craig on Dec. 20, 1945. Wayne preceded her in death on April 13th, 2010. Wayne and June had two sons, Michael & Patrick, two daughters, Ruth &Teresa, who will be forever blessed for having June as their mother. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at East Central State College & furthered her education with a Master’s Degree at New Mexico State University. June taught elementary education, retiring from the Alamogordo, NM Public School System and later retiring from the Davis, OK Public School System. In retirement life, June & Wayne enjoyed traveling, life on their farm, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Ruth Runyan and husband Buddy, of Kingston, OK, son Mike Craig of OKC, daughter Teresa Ryan and husband Don of OKC, son Patrick Craig and wife Tammy of Claude, TX, sister Dorothy Worthington of Winter Haven, FL and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children or New Covenant Christian Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 5th from 8 am to 8 pm at Guardian West Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 6th at 10 am at New Covenant Christian Church with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Palmer Cemetery in Sulphur, OK.
