Karen Lynne Tibbets

Karen Lynne Tibbets (Cleaver), 72 of OKC passed away peacefully with family by her side Thursday, August 22, 2024. Karen was born October 31, 1951 in OKC to M. Dale and Delores Cleaver. She resided in Oklahoma City her entire life. She graduated US Grant High School in 1969. Karen met Michael Tibbets and was married May 1, 1983.

Karen went on to attend Trade School for Cosmetology. A few years into her career, she settled into her own home Hair Salon. There, she continued working nearly 40 years. Her outgoing and loving personality will be remembered by all. Always being an anchor and safe place for many. Karen enjoyed telling stories about family, all kinds of art and crafts, making things for friends and family, gardening, and her most favorite activity was attending her grandson’s ball games.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Michael Tibbets of OKC; daughter, Brandi Rogers and husband Johnny Rogers of Norman, OK; sisters, Barbara Philips Pico of TX, and Marla Snodgrass of Yukon, OK; brother in law’s, Mark Pico of TX, Tom Newby of Enid, OK, and Randy Snodgrass of Yukon, OK; sister in law’s, Robin Newby of Enid, OK and Cindy Miller (Tibbets) of CO; niece’s, Laura McGuire of Laverne, OK, and Kristina Tyner of Goltry, OK, Brittyn Boyer of CO; nephew’s, Trey Philips of TX, Tanner Newby of OKC, Austin Teel of OH, and Mason Teel of OH; grandson, Baylor Tibbets of OKC; cousins, and so many dear friends.

“If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again." Karen always had an unwavering love for God.
