

Kathleen was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma, with her twin sister Emmileen to Oscar and Saleema Mahfood Adwan. She graduated from Henryetta High School. During WWII, she enlisted in the Cadet Nurse Corps and graduated from the University of Oklahoma Nursing School in 1947. There, she met her late husband, Dr. Richard Wyrick. She was a 78 year member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.
She is retired from Putnam City Schools where she worked as a school nurse for 21 years. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cross stitching, bowling and square dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Saleema Adwan, her first husband Dr. Richard Wyrick, sister Anne Shore, brother Dr. Kenneth Adwan, and her second husband Joseph Bertok. She is survived by her sister Emmileen Hamlin of Oklahoma City; her three sons: Dr. Michael Wyrick and wife Vanessa of Booneville AR., Wayne Harris-Wyrick and his wife Rocksye of Oklahoma City, and Randel Wyrick and his wife Mollie of Leander TX.; her loving grandchildren Alex Wyrick, Jefferson Wyrick, Joshua Wyrick (wife Katie), Rhiannon Roesler (husband Frank), Ethan Samsel, Azuranna Wyrick, Richard Wyrick (wife Sadie), and Kelly Wyrick (wife Elizabeth); and great-grand-children Maggie Wyrick, Ella Wyrick, Annie Wyrick, Kade Roesler and Maverick Roesler. A viewing will be at Hahn-Cook/ Street and Draper Funeral Home, 6600 Broadway Ext, Oklahoma City, Friday, April 1, from 4-8 p.m. Services will be held at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th St, Oklahoma City, on Saturday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. with interment following immediately afterward at Fairlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name at St. Luke’s Church and/or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors.
