Kevin Dale Bunde

Kevin graduated from Hastings High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force. He entered active duty on July 19, 1976, and honorably served until March 31, 2000. Kevin lived and worked around the world, including assignments in Korea, Germany, Italy, Bosnia, and Saudi Arabia, as well as in Indiana, Texas, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he continued his dedication to public service as a police officer.

Kevin was a devoted member of the American Legion, St. Luke’s Methodist Church, and First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Nebraska.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Kevin loved country music, Star Trek, western movies and television shows, cooking, reading, playing video games, storm chasing, the smell of sawdust, and especially spending time playing with his grandchildren. His idea of a perfect day was building things and working with his hands. He was the resident cop of the neighborhood and completed many programs at various colleges.

Kevin loved his family. He was a joy to everyone who met him, especially to his wife, Fran Sylvester Bunde, whom he loved dearly. Kevin and Fran were married on September 27, 2018, and shared seven beautiful years together, though Kevin would proudly say they were married for ten. He cherished life, his children, and his grandchildren, and will always be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a true gentleman. Through his example, he taught those around him how to love unconditionally and the importance of talking through life’s challenges.

He is survived by this wife, Fran Bunde of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his mother Betty Bunde of Hastings, Oklahoma, his children Sabrina and husband Michael Aguilar of Texas, Matthew and wife JoAnna Bunde of Del City, Oklahoma, and Travis and wife Elizabeth Bunde of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Michael Sylvester and wife Katherine, and Jason Sylvester and wife Jennifer, his sister Renae Bunde of Hastings, Nebraska, and his eight grandkids Stella (13), Dante (11), Patrick (8), Sydnie (7), Seeley (6), Harrisson (5), and Rebecca (2).
