Laura Inez Newton

Laura Inez Newton, passed away April 23, 2014 at Willow Creek Health Center in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the age of 89. Born February 21, 1925 in Tyler, Texas, she was the daughter of Thomas Howard Haskins and Lizzie Brown Haskins. Inez was a longtime former resident of Jones, Oklahoma. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Before her health declined she enjoyed reading; shopping; and walking. Inez was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Junior Lee Newton in 1990; and 1 brother, William E. "Buddy" Haskins. Survivors include 3 daughters, Donna Hill of Edmond, Oklahoma; Cathy and her husband Danny Weeks of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Tommie and her husband Danny Houston of Covington, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with burial to follow at Jones I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Jones, Oklahoma. Her family would like to extend a special thank-you to both Willow Creek Nursing Center and Companion Hospice for their loving care and faithful attention to our Mother.
