

Lawrence William Davis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend passed away on May 28, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry was born on May 9, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to H. William Davis and Katherine Westrick Davis. After graduating from Broken Arrow High School in 1967, he attended Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri where he met and married the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Judith Ann Bennitt. He then went on to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a doctor at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine.
Larry chose to specialize in Neurology and was known for his dedication and compassion for each of his patients. In 2009, Larry became Director of the James R. Daniel Cerebrovascular & Stroke Center at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center. He and his team created one of the premier stroke programs in the state, which has benefited countless patients across Oklahoma.
Larry also enjoyed the challenge of many sports and hobbies such as sailing, skeet shooting, cutting horses and racing cars. He pursued each new interest until he had mastered it and then moved on to the next challenge.
Above all, Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He was so proud of his sons, Brad and Scott and their wonderful wives, Tiffany and Macy. He especially loved his role of “Doc” to his amazing grandchildren Bennitt, Ford, Chandler and Kate.
Preceded in death by his mother Katherine Westrick Davis, he leaves behind his wife Judy; his son Brad and wife Tiffany; his son Scott and wife Macy; his grandchildren Bennitt, Ford, Chandler and Kate; his father H. William Davis; his brother Philip Davis and wife Meghan; his niece Jessica Highfill; his nephews Matthew Davis, Sam Davis, Matthew Trayte and Ryan Trayte; his sister-in-law Lyn Trayte and husband Rollie; and his mother-in-law, Janet Barnum.
A memorial service honoring the life of Lawrence William Davis will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at All Souls' Episcopal Church, 6400 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73116.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
