

She was born on December 5, 1924, to Richard Thomas and Lillian Barbara Huxtable, in Vincent, Arkansas. She grew up in Earle, Arkansas, and went to Hendrix College, where she met her future husband, Army PFC Lester Jerome Hathcock. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. Degree in Chemistry.
She and Lester were wed on June 18, 1947, at the Methodist Church in Earle; their marriage was blessed for 49 years until Lester’s passing in 1996.
She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and the PEO.
She is survived in death by: brother Richard Huxtable, cousin Don King, son Douglas Hathcock (and wife Linda) of Houston, Texas, daughter Margaret Cochran (and husband Sam) of Edmond, and John Hathcock (and wife Jeanne) of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Chris Hathcock, Eric Hathcock, Katy Cato and Emily Cochran; and great grandchildren Jasmine, Jordan, Lauren, Peyton, Preston, Pierce, Larson, Gavin and Gracie Hathcock.
She was preceded in death by both parents, husband Lester J. Hathcock and brother Jack Huxtable, and great grandson Roman Hathcock.
She was God’s blessing to her family and her many friends. All those who knew her will miss her very much. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday May 9, 2011 at Grace United Methodist Church with burial in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
