

Lillian R. Shaver, 77, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Carrollton, TX. She was born on March 8, 1938, in Clarita, OK, to Hazel Harrison. She graduated from Central High School in 1955. She attended OSU, where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a degree in education. She married Jim Mitchell Shaver in 1957. She was an elementary school teacher for 26 years in the Putnam City School District, specifically at Coronado Heights and James L. Dennis. Lillian loved to travel, play bridge, and attend plays, musicals, and concerts with her friends. She was a member of the Oklahoma Hospitality Club where she was very involved in community outreach especially with the Salvation Army. She was a member of Church of the Servant United Methodist Church. She was strong in her faith and loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mitchell Shaver. She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Shaver of Frisco, TX, her son and daughter-in-law, Mitch and Donna Shaver of Dallas, TX, and her grandson, Alec Mitchell Shaver, who was her pride and joy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Church of the Servant United Methodist Church, 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73142. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 25, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Guardian Funeral Home West Chapel, 5820 NW 41, Warr Acres, OK. The funeral service and reception will be held at 1:30pm at Church of the Servant United Methodist Church on Wed, August 26. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 7801 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK.
