Lloyd David Giles

Lloyd David Giles, age 84, passed away suddenly at his home in Oklahoma City, Ok on May 27, 2025.

Lloyd leaves behind his beloved wife Judith Ann (Glenn) Giles of 19 years, his brother Leon Edward Giles of Oklahoma City, OK, his children David Eugene (Lisa) Giles of Wanette Ok, Irene Renee (Jack) Slover of Gautier, MS and Cheryl Ann (James) Gray of Panama City, FL, Justin Shane (Carol) Bookout and Tammy Sue (Stuart) Joslin. Lloyd also leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lloyd Giles was born in 1941 at home, in Hackett, AR, to the union of Lloyd and Myrtle Irene (Pigg) Giles. Six years later his brother, Leon Edward was born, and a year after that his sister Mary Katherine was born. When he was 17, Lloyd was determined to sign up as a soldier following in his father’s footsteps. He eventually advanced to serve in the Air Rescue Service branch of the United States Air Force. At 18, Lloyd and Rebecca Irene McCarty were married in July of 1959. They had three children, David Eugene, born in 1960, daughter Irene Renee, born in 1961, and Cheryl Ann, born in 1963. After his military service, Lloyd discovered his knack for carpentry and construction work. Alongside his brother, Leon, and son, David, he worked in this field until after Rebecca's passing in 1998. Lloyd married Judith Ann (Glenn) Bookout, July 21, 2006. Her children are Justin Shane Bookout and Tammy Sue (Bookout) Joslin. Lloyd and Judy spent 19 wonderful years together traveling, fishing, hunting, supporting and loving one another.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Giles, 1982; his mother, Myrtle (Pigg) Bellar, 2008; his first wife, Rebecca Giles, 1998; his sister, Mary Allen, 2016; his grandson, Joshua Shelley, 1984; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Giles, 2023.

He will be loved and missed by all of his family and friends; the impact he made on their lives will live on forever.
