Lucia R. Hodges was more than a beloved wife, mother, Nana, and friend — she was the heart of our family. Born in Madrid, Spain, she carried her roots with pride, even as she built a new life in the United States with her husband, Verrell LeRoy Hodges. Their love story spanned 66 beautiful years, full of devotion, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

Arriving in a new country, she faced the challenges of learning a new language and culture with incredible strength and determination. Her deep love for her family motivated everything she did — from raising her children and grandchildren to supporting her husband through his military career.

Lucia’s sharp wit, warm smile, and love of cards always brought joy to family gatherings. Her “Spanish Mafia” friends became her second family, filling her home with laughter, stories, and friendship that lasted a lifetime.

To us, she was Nana — always present with open arms, wise words, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, grace, and the powerful example of a life fully and beautifully lived. Though our hearts are heavy, we are forever grateful for the gift of her love, which will remain with us always.

We love you, and we will carry your spirit with us, Nana.
