Margarita Alva Castillo

Margarita Alva Castillo, born on January 19, 1972, in Hamlin, TX, was sent to her eternal home on December 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK.


Margarita, named after her Grandfather, Margarito, spent her early childhood in Sweetwater, Texas where she often talked about her fondest memories. In her teenage years, Margarita moved to Oklahoma City with her family where she would eventually start a family of her own.

Margaritas life journey was marked by significant challenges, but through it all, she found joy in simple pleasures and maintained a resilient outlook on life. Margarita had a passion for learning and recently received her Associates of Science in Business Administration this past June. Margarita was kind and helped her friends and family when they were in need. She opened her doors many times when someone needed a helping hand. Margarita enjoyed writing and doodling in her journals, she collected plushies, she loved all holidays and always wanted to make them as joyful as possible and was known to over decorate. She enjoyed music from Intocable and Los Tigres Del Norte. She loved pampering herself, nails, perfumes, jewelry and especially shoes. She found her new joy in the company of her puppy, La Muñeca. These moments provided comfort and peace to her and it is these moments of light that her family will hold in their memory. Margarita left us unexpectedly and her family is still trying to cope with her loss. May she rest in eternal peace. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the happy times you may have shared with her.

Margarita was preceded in death by her brother, Pete A. Ortega, and is survived by her Children: JoAnn, Sergio, Christian and Margarita, her Parents: Rebecca and Ruben Castillo, her siblings: Joe, Becky, Tony and David and grandchildren : Lilliana, Andy, Nevaeh, Layla, Lucyanna, Estrella and Angel and her loving pup La Muñeca as well as many friends and family members who will miss her dearly.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers and support received during this time of loss.

Visitation will be from 3 pm to 7 pm on December 30, 2025 at Advantage Funeral Home, located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73159.

Funeral services will be at 6 pm on December 31, 2025 at Advantage Funeral Home Chapel.
