Maria Thu Nguyen, 79, of OKC passed from this life on May 15, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service and a service celebrating her life will be held at 9am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the St. Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday and Friday from 10am to 8pm.
Maria was born on May 6, 1939 in Vietnam. She married the love of her life Hau Phuc Nguyen in 1954 and they had 11 children together. In 1986 the family relocated to OKC where Maria continued to raise her children while her husband worked. Maria and Hau were married for 60 years before his passing in 2014. Maria was a long time member of St. Andrew Dung-Lac Catholic Church where she worshipped and volunteered her time. She was a wonderful cook and she was never happier than when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and a child Hoang Nguyen. She is survived by 10 children: Huong, Huy, Ha, Hung, Hoa, Hung, Huyen, Hang, Hiep, and Huan Nguyen. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
