

Marie Parsons of Jones Oklahoma was called to her heavenly home on a cold snowy day on February 25, 2022, at the age of 90. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Marie was born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas on June 14, 1931, which eventually became known as Flag Day in 1949. Marie June was born to Arthur Blaine and Lavada Vickrey Hosler.
Marie graduated from Sibley High School. She later attended college at Northwestern in Natchitoches, Louisiana on a nursing scholarship. She met the man she would eventually marry on a double date. His name was Robert Parsons, but most people called him Bob. They dated for over a year and were married January 5, 1953. They built a strong marriage together celebrating 68 anniversaries.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Vada, her loving husband of 68 years Robert Leroy Parsons who passed away in September, their first child Robert Parsons Jr who was stillborn, two brothers Herbert Hosler and Fred Hosler, and one sister Mabel Beavers.
She is survived by two sons Timothy and wife Denise of Mustang OK, Philip and wife Shirley of Broken Arrow OK, one daughter Rebecca Dean and husband Joseph of Harrison Township, MI. Grandchildren Jennifer and husband Josh Swift, Andrea and husband Jose Hernandez, Lyndsey and Fiancé Beau Marsaln, Ryan Parsons, John Parsons, Elizabeth and husband Kyle Thomas, Alex and wife Kana Dean, Moriah Dean, Nathan and wife Elizabeth Dean, Sister Anna Laura Knighten of Desten, Florida, Great Grandchildren Cady, Lauren, Luke, Finn, and Sophia.
Marie was a strong woman of faith, and she loved her church. She taught Sunday School for over 50 years with the last 10 years as a teacher for the Adult Women’s class at First Baptist Jones. She also loved working with the Children in VBS. She took care of her husband, her family and so many other things. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman!
