Marilyn Krell, 68, passed away suddenly on Wednesday December 14th 2022. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic on December 1, 1954, she grew up in Puerto Rico before moving to Minnesota. She married the love of her life, Phillip Krell who predeceased her, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her talents were many including photography, cooking, teaching, tailoring, residential construction and even bus driving. While she never cared about pretensions or material things, she never skimped on making the best no matter what her situation was. During the last two decades she focused on her photography, Spanish literature, and teaching Spanish to college and high school students. She captured incredible images of people and landscapes, and she loved sharing what she captured with others. She was deeply dedicated to her family, friends, art, cooking, education, and students.
She is survived by her two sons, Caleb (Jessica) and Joshua; her granddaughter Dalia and grandson Aaron; her brothers Roberto and Edwin; and many extended family members. She was also preceded in death by her parents Luz Requena and Felipe Velez. Donations may be made in her memory to your preferred immigrant rights, housing support, or education charity.
