Martha Marie Kennedy

Please join us in the celebration of life of Martha Marie Kennedy who passed away on December 23, 2012 at the age of 97. Marie was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Martin Henry Nicholas and Marcia T. Ballard. She graduated from Guthrie High School in 1933. Marie married Bert Nolan Kennedy and to that union was born three sons, Tom Kennedy and wife Etta Marie, Edmond, OK, Conard Kennedy and wife Adra, Marion, IL and Richard Kennedy and wife Rose, Piedmont, OK. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Marie formed Newcomers’ Greeting Service and was very successful being voted Oklahoma Businesswoman of the Year in 1962. Marie was active in the ABWA and various organizations. Marie was a long-standing member of Village Baptist Church. Viewing will be held at Guardian West on Wed., December 26 from 3:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Guardian West. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oklahoma League for the Blind.
