Martha E. Vega

Martha Elizabeth Vega went to her heavenly home on March 2, 2016 after a two-year battle with cancer. She was born July 13, 1954 in Moore, Oklahoma to Charles Sobetsky and Suzie Doughty. She graduated from Moore High School. Later she attended ITT Tech. She married Richard Rogers in 1972. Later she married Ferdinand Vega in 1991.

She is survived by her husband, Fred: daughter, Kelly McCoy: son, Marc and wife Jessica: step-daughters Samara Vega and Lisa Scroggins. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mason and Autumn McCoy: Gavriel and Isabella Vega. Also her step-grandchildren Skylar McCoy, Shaughnessy Roberts, McKayla Smith, Liam Vega, Alexander Mendoza, and Destiny Scroggins and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-father John Pendley.

She is proceeded in death by both parents, her sister Anna Smith, and her step-mother Emi Sobetsky.

Martha enjoyed gardening, camping, jet skiing, hiking, and later in life cooking with her husband Fred as her guinea pig. Her greatest joy was taking care of and being with her grandchildren. She loved going to all their events, vacationing with them, and watching them grow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Cancer research in her name would be greatly appreciated.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. March 5, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home located 8701 NW Expressway Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162.
