With heartfelt sorrow and steadfast hope in Christ, the family of Marvin Earl Reed announces his homegoing on December 5, 2025. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice knowing Marvin is now at peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Born on May 5, 1943 in Foyil OK, Marvin lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service. He walked humbly with God and sought to live out the teachings of Jesus in all he did. Marvin was a man of quiet strength, gentle humor, and unwavering love—qualities that reflected the light of Christ to all who knew him. Marvin devoted himself to serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and the OKC VA Medical Center, working with integrity and dedication. Yet his greatest joy was found in serving his family and his church. Whether through prayer, a helping hand, or a kind word, Marvin made a difference in the lives of many. He was a faithful member of New Life Harvest Church, where he worshiped, volunteered, and built lifelong friendships. Marvin cherished studying Scripture, teaching children , and sharing the hope of Christ with others.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 59 years Stella Mabe Reed, son Delbert Reed and his wife Tammy, daughter Diana Reed Owen and husband Opie, all of Midwest City, OK, sisters Bertha Dickens and Linda Lee of Claremore, brother Cletis Reed of Colorado Springs, CO. He was Papa and Grandpa to 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren who will carry his legacy of faith forward. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Ralph and Aretta Reed, brothers Melvin, Leonard, Carl and Clarence Reed whom he now joins in glory. Though Marvin Earl Reed will be deeply missed, we take comfort in the promise of Psalms 121:1-2 - “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth. We trust that Marvin is now resting in that eternal home, embraced by the love of God. As Marvin would say he is now “gooder than snuff better than taters.”
A visitation will be held at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, located at 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, on December 10, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for December 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the same location, Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
Marvin Earl Reed will be laid to rest at Arlington Memory Gardens, situated at 3400 N Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141, on December 11, 2025.
