

Mary Ann Lemmon peacefully passed away at her home Friday, October 27th. She was born on February 10, 1933, in Oklahoma City, the only child of Jack and Elda Fariss. During her childhood, Mary Ann spent much of her time in Leedey, Oklahoma on the Fariss family farm. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1951 and continued her education at Columbia University where she met her life-long friend, Jo Crohan. Mary Ann graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in journalism. Following graduation, she worked in television as the host of an entertainment show. Mary Ann met and married the father of her only child Kimberly Ann. Later in life she spent many happy hours on her father’s ranch in Crosby County, Texas. She also lived in Lubbock, Texas for a while, during which time she attended Texas Tech Law School. Her hobbies included bowling, traveling, and reading mystery novels. She was an animal rights advocate who supported many animal charities. She cherished her two grandsons and delighted in praising their accomplishments. A devoted OU football fan, one of her favorite pastimes was wagering on college football games with her grandson Jack. A loyal friend, Mary Ann was extremely generous in helping many of her friends who were in need. She took pride in assisting her grandchildren in their educational endeavors. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ann, and her son-in-law, John, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and her grandsons Max of Royal Oak, Michigan, and Jack of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
