

Mary Beatrice Harrison was born in Vian, Oklahoma, on June 24, 1916, to Edgar and Vera Huggins, and passed away the morning of June 19, 2017. Mary attended college for one year at the University of Arkansas before transferring to Oklahoma A&M, where she met the love of her life, C.A. Harrison. They married after she finished her B.S. in Education in 1938. During W.W. II, she taught for two years in the Vian public school while C.A. was stationed in Alaska with the U.S. Navy. They moved to Midwest City in 1948 and Mary became active in many church, civic, and social organizations. She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. She also was active in the local chapter of PEO and in her college sorority, Pi Beta Phi. She enjoyed a weekly Bible study group, garden club, and Junior Service League, was a “Gray Ladies” volunteer at the Tinker Air Force Base hospital, and cooked and delivered meals for the mobile meals program. Other interests included supporting OSU Cowboy football and basketball and the OKC Thunder.
Mary is survived by son James Richard Harrison and his wife Michelle of Dallas, Texas; son Charles Arthur Harrison and his wife Linda of Midwest City; granddaughter Dr. Asheley Wathen, her husband Bradley, and great grandsons Charlie and Joshua of DeSoto, Kansas; sister Rita Reager of Wilburton, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her husband C.A. and her brother Miller Huggins of Vian, Oklahoma.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Friday, June 23, at the First Presbyterian Church of Midwest City.
