Mary Elizabeth McCarty

Mary Elizabeth McCarty, our precious mother, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on May 27, 2012, surrounded by her family & friends. She was 80 years of age. Mary always thought of others first in her loving most unselfish way. Her positive attitude was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. Mary was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Oklahoma City and also attended the University of Oklahoma. She worked at the Oklahoma House of Representatives for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her father William M. Smith, her mother Mildred Kate Boland Smith, her husband The Honorable J.D. McCarty, Speaker of the House of Representatives, State of Oklahoma, three brothers and two sisters. She leaves her sister Katherine Bishop; children, Beverly Fentress (Si), Elizabeth London (Gary), Tracy Wagoner (Brad), Willis Dickey (Gayle), and Reverend Michelle McCarty. She was Grandma and Grams to Carolyn Brown, Keith Brown, Lauren London, Sam Fentress, Wes Fentress, Hunter London, Lindsay Wagoner, Ashley Wagoner, and Great Grandma to Braedyn Brown. We wish to recognize the loving care provided by Dr. Shah & his staff at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Autumn Bridge Hospice, Touchmark at Coffee Creek, and Mercy ICU.
