Mary Louise McGhee, 91, passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mary was born on October 13, 1932 in New Braunfels, Texas to Ellen Nolte and Walter T. Schmidt. In 1954, she married Everette Glen McGhee, Jr. Mary and E.G. had four children, John McGhee (Sharon), Carol Walker (Mack), Ellen Horton (Jon), and Shelley Tracy (Brian). She is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael Horton, Alex Horton, Hannah Tracy and Sam Tracy. Mary was a very kind and doting mother and had a sense of humor second to none. Her children have fond memories of coming home to the smell of her fresh baked French bread and chocolate chip cookies. Mary worked tirelessly with her husband during the founding and running of their companies. She took on many roles from administrator, to bookkeeper, to secretary. She was a faithful member of the Anglican Church altar guild for many, many years. Mary will be remembered for her endless ability to make everyone laugh. She filled the room with joy and never failed to bring smiles to everyone in her presence.
