

Maurine was born on August 2, 1924 in Kaw City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hugh F. and Clarabell (Parker) McIntyre. She graduated from Newkirk High School in 1943. On January 20, 1944 Maurine married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Lee Bacher. They had 70 wonderful years of marriage. Maurine worked for 37 ½ years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in the Equipment Engineering Department as a specialist. Maurine was a loving, caring and giving wife and mother. She had a wonderful and funny spirit. Above all she loved her God and her family. In her younger years, Maurine enjoyed sewing and made all of her daughter’s clothes. She also loved cleaning house. She was very organized and her home was always spotless. In her later years, she enjoyed painting ceramics and traveling with Lee. In 1984 Maurine was initiated as a special initiate into Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and loved being with all of her sisters. She was an active member of University Place Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was a Deaconess. When University Place closed she joined and was an active member of Crown Heights Christian Church where she was a Deaconess and was in the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She loved her OSU Cowboys and attended every home football game from 1978 -2008. She was an avid Republican and always kept up with the latest in politics. She was preceded in death by her father Hugh, mother Clarabell, and brothers John and George McIntyre. She is survived by her husband Lee, son Monty and his wife Sharon, daughter Debbie (Bell) and her husband Wayne, brother Mike McIntyre, nephew Kevin (Tammy) McIntyre, and niece Mary (Jack) Brunschmid, and her four special “fur” grandchildren Austin, Boomer, Keely and Darcy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maurine and Lee Bacher Scholarship Fund c/0 OSU Foundation, P. O. Box 1749 Stillwater, OK 74076. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 12-8 pm with family present from 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11 am at Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City.
