

Michael Mendel Goldberg, 68, of Edmond passed away on April 14, 2011. Mike was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on January 25, 1943 to Sam and Sylvia Goldberg. Mike was raised in Wilburton, Oklahoma and later graduated from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma School of Law. Mike also earned a Master of Laws from George Washington University Law School. Mike served his country for twenty years as an officer in the JAG Corps of the U.S. Navy, retiring with the rank of Commander. Continuing his dedication to public service, Mike worked a further twenty-one years for the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. Mike was a kind and gentle man, a wonderful father, and a loving husband. He will be missed by his family and all who knew him. Mike is survived by his wife of 37 years Joanne, son Scott and wife Katie of Dallas, Texas, daughter Sarah and husband Eric of Ridgefield, Connecticut, sister Harriet and husband Joel of Oklahoma City, sister Sally of San Jose, California and many other family members. A memorial service will be held at Temple B’nai Israel, 4901 N. Pennsylvania Ave. at 2:00 pm on Sunday April 17, 2011 followed by a graveside service at the Temple B’nai Israel section of Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 N. Kelley Ave. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. A special thank you to Dr. Ralph Ganick and all the doctors, nurses and other caregivers who so skillfully and lovingly cared for Mike during his almost eighteen year battle with cancer.
