Nita Lou Kitson

She was born on December 24, 1935 in Montrose, Missouri to Mary Marie and Thomas David Gray. Nita attended Central State University and received her master’s in 1980. She was employed at Tinker Air Force Base and worked as a Nurse Educator there for 22 years.

Nita was a devoted member of Southern Hills Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, water aerobics, baking and most importantly spending time with her family. She was married to Robert Kitson and shared 31 years of wonderful marriage together.

Nita is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Marie Gray and Thomas David Gray; daughter, Jennifer Lemaster; brother, Wayne Gray; sisters, Virginia Gray and Wilma Hickox. She is survived by her husband, Robert Kitson; son, Michael Kelley and wife Deborah; daughter, Michelle Kelley; granddaughters, Alexis Shawn, Michayla Kelley, Brianna Lemaster, Alex Kozoyed; grandson, Braiden Lemaster; and great-great grandchildren Creed, Shawn and Dyani Shawn.

A visitation for Nita will be held Monday, September 4, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 8601 S Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159 with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
