

Opal loved her family very much especially her grandchildren. In her younger years, she and her family would travel to Colorado and Las Vegas. While traveling, they enjoyed fishing, catching frogs, and Opal even cooked the frog legs for a family meal because she was such a great cook. She would do anything for anyone and a very trusting person. Opal was a member of The Red Hat Society, volunteered at the Checotah Senior Citizen Center, and was involved in other community events. She was a strong Christian who enjoyed singing gospel music. Opal is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Barton Patterson; and sisters, Lola Kidd and Vera Goodridge.
Survivors include her children, Randy Patterson and wife Eppie, an Frankie Patterson and wife Pat; grandchildren, Steve Patterson, Aaron Patterson and wife Cindy, and Gene Patterson; great-grandchildren, Destiny Patterson and Raina Patterson; and siblings, Wayne Lee and wife Peggy, Dale Lee and wife Olive, Raymond Lee and wife Joanne, and Connie Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members who will miss her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home with interment to follow at Kolb Cemetery.
