Patricia Dick

Patricia Ann Dick was born to Audrey May Balfour and Merle McVay in Petaluma, California April 30th 1939. She passed away January 24, 2017 at 77 years of age. Patty was a big sister to her three siblings, Douglas, Paul, and Nancy. Her family moved back to Oklahoma during her teenage years. During this time she met and married Jimmie Burl Estes.Patty and Jim moved to Liberal, Kansas where she was a homemaker and had four children, Bambi Lynn, Jimmie Dean, Burl Dee, and Kelly Don. Seven years later they settled in Bethany, Oklahoma so Jim could attend college. Patricia started working full time at Western Electric to support her family and it was her dream to also attend college one day. Patricia achieved her dream 12 years later and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University as a Registered Nurse. She achieved her degree as a single mother supporting Burl and Kelly, attending college full time, and working full time as Manager at Sooner Temporary Services. In 1984 she moved to Kansas and worked many years at Attica Hospital. She met and married a rancher from a nearby town. They were married at the St. John’s Parish Catholic Church on December 27, 1985. She attended mass and supported St. John’s for over 30 years. They owned and operated their farm in Spivey, Kansas raising cattle. Patricia was Nanny to eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Michael, Carlie, Shellie, Amie, Jayme, and James. She also had 13 greatgrandchildren. Patricia was Mother-in-law to Mike Riggs and Brenda Estes. Some of her hobbies were china painting, quilting and trail riding. Patricia leaves behind two children, Bambi and Burl, 8 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, 2 siblings, Paul and Nancy, 9 nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother Audrey, brother Doug, 2 sons, Jimmie and Kelly, and most recently her husband of 30 years, Martin, who passed away four months ago. Patricia will be laid to rest by her children at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and will be loved, remembered, and missed by all.
