She married Andrew Thomas Sinclair, of Limon, Colorado, on July 4, 1942. She was one of the founders of the Fourth of July Parade at Kite Park in Nichols Hills. “She had numerous friends in Oklahoma City and survived most of them,” according to Paula Allen, her daughter. “She was part of the generation that worked hard to build the United States into a world power after the Second World War and was proud of their accomplishments.” Her father, John A. (Jack) Vickers founded the Vickers Petroleum Co. of Wichita, Kansas, and was a colorful figure in the 1920s and 1930s as she was growing up.
