On May 13, 2026, Patsy Malinda (Walker) Parr peacefully bid farewell to her earthly body and was welcomed into her Heavenly home. Patsy, 83, was a 65-year resident of Bethany and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was a longtime member of West 10th Street Baptist Church and, more recently, Council Road Baptist Church, where she faithfully sang in the choir.
Patsy was born on October 17, 1942, in Cyril, Oklahoma, the second of four children born to Edgar Angelo and Ola Mae (Lamar) Walker. She grew up and attended school in Cyril and, after graduating high school, moved to Oklahoma City to attend business school. She was first employed by The First National Bank and later worked for the Department of Labor, where she retired in 2003.
Shortly after moving to Oklahoma City, she met and married Charles K. Bowen. During their 13 years of marriage, they had three children: Vicki, Jeff, and Darcie. In 2016, Patsy was courted by Don Cody Parr, and it wasn’t long before they were married on June 26, 2016.
Patsy’s life was deeply rooted in her unwavering faith. She was known to many as a devoted prayer warrior who faithfully kept prayer lists and lifted others up daily by name. Praying for friends, family, church members, and even those she had just met was one of the ways she expressed care and compassion for the people in her life.
Her church communities were especially meaningful to her. She found joy not only in singing in the choir, but in the fellowship and spiritual connection she shared with others. Patsy’s quiet devotion, gentle spirit, and steadfast belief in the power of prayer left a lasting impression on those who worshipped alongside her and experienced her thoughtful encouragement.
Patsy was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Vicki Kaylene Bowen; her parents, Ola Mae and Edgar Walker; and her sister, Kayla Harless. She is survived by her husband, Don Cody Parr and his family; her daughter, Darcie Bowen and her fiancé, Matt Norwood; her son, Jeff Bowen; and her two grandchildren, Jack and Jenna Bowen of Dallas, Texas.
Her children are confident Patsy is now at peace in her forever home.
The family would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt thanks to Kate’s Angels for the compassionate care they provided as Patsy transitioned from this world.
A visitation for Patsy will take place at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73116, on Tuesday, May 19 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A second visitation will be held at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper on Wednesday, May 20, from 8:00 a.m. until Patsy's Prayer Circle begins at 1:00 p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.
