

He began his career with the Oklahoma City Fire Department June 23, 1978. Randy was promoted to Sergeant in August of 1985 and then again in June 1990 to Lieutenant. As a certified rescue diver before joining the department, Randy became a member of the Dive/ Rescue Team upon his hire date. As an active CPR instructor/ trainer since 1979, he had certified a majority of the firefighters with the department. Randy retired on June 1, 2004.
He served on the Exec. Board of the central labor council for eight years Jan 1992 until Dec 2003. Randy was also: chairman of the local 157 firefighters association legislative committee since 1993 and on the Oklahoma state firefighters association legislative committee, having served on this board since 1995/1996, and spent many hours working on State, City, and County elections to assure that elected officials are sensitive to the firefighter’s needs/ He has been elected as delegate to the International Assoc. of Firefighters convention consecutive times, Oklahoma State Firefighters Association convention since 1987 and a delegate to the Legislative conference in Washington, D.C.
Randy was a diligent servant for the Local 157 and worked extremely hard in protecting the benefits, retirement, and future of the men and women of the Oklahoma City Fire Department and the Firefighters throughout the State of Oklahoma whether paid, volunteer or retired.
He was a member of South Lindsay Baptist Church. Randy enjoyed golfing, fishing, dancing and doing yard work. He will be remembered for being very compassionate towards others, and having a servant’s heart. He loved to tease everyone around him from his friends to his family. His laugh will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Rose; mother, Patricia Schneider; paternal grandparents, and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Charmion Rose; sons, David Rose and Randel Rose; grandsons, Brayden Rose and Carter Rose; granddaughter, Olivia Rose; brother, Dennis Rose and wife, Kathy; sisters, DeBurna Arnold and husband, Troy; Deana Davis and husband, Jack; Kennita Tourville and husband, Rodney; Susan Hendricks and husband, Kent; very special friend and confidant, Janet Fedor; step-brother, Ken Schneider and step-sister, Trish Thompson.
A visitation for Randy will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral service will occur Monday, May 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at South Lindsay Baptist Church, 3300 S Lindsay Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73129 with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Garden ,500 SW 104th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73139.
