ReJeania was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on April 4, 1947 and died in Oklahoma City on July 19, 2015. ReJeania was the beloved daughter of Gene and Reba Geren, the latter who died in 2001. ReJeania is also preceded in death by her brother Richard Geren, who died June 1, 2014.
ReJeania is survived by her father Gene Geren, and his wife Dortha, husband Tom, daughter Amy, son Geren, his wife Stacey and their children Jackson and Nathan, son Chris, his wife Katy and their daughter Lucille.
ReJeania loved children and devoted her life to them. For more than a quarter of a century she served as the head of the primary division at Westminster school. There she nurtured thousands of children (and their parents, too!), leaving an imprint on a city that will not soon be forgotten. Her enthusiasm, optimism and deep understanding of Montessori teachings was rare. So, too, was the kind manner with which she practiced her craft, always ready to deliver a needed hug or a gentle touch. By sharing her values and wisdom in such tender and kind ways, she influenced thousands of children and their families in Oklahoma City.
ReJeania was also a devoted wife and mother. Her husband and children, they adored her. Despite the many demands for her time, she gave freely of herself to her family. Her children relished the time they got with their “momma”, and count themselves incredibly fortunate to have grown up in a world that brought her love, attention, and inspiration. Her husband could not imagine a better match. Together they talked, smiled, laughed and cried. Together.
Her family and her “children” students will miss her so.
