Richard Earl Danner

RICHARD EARL DANNER, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 8, 2026. Richard was one of three children born to Marion Kline and Mildred Lucille (Williams) Danner in Evansville, Indiana on December 1, 1930.

The family eventually moved to Oklahoma City and made their home. He married Velma Sue Biles August 24, 1952 and this year they would celebrate 75 incredible years devoted to one another.

Richard served his country joining the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant before going on to college.

He went on to Oklahoma University where he would receive his master’s degree in teaching. He taught in the Putnam City School System for many, many years until he began to work for the Board of Education helping teachers become better teachers.

His favorite things to do would be on a cruise ship with his wife, Velma. He loved his wife, children and his grandchildren. He would strive daily to be an excellent husband, wonderful father and a better teacher.

They were long time members of Putnam Christian Church.

In addition to his parents preceding him in death, Richard is also preceded by his son James Allen Danner.

He leaves to carry on his memory his loving wife Velma Danner of the home, children John Michael Danner of OKC, Jeffrey Scott Danner and wife Jaylene Danner of OKC, Linda Carol Danner of Murrieta, CA; brother Doug Danner of San Diego, CA; sister Nancy Danner of Missouri and three grandchildren Kirsten, Carly and Michael.
