Richard Earl Griffis

Richard Earl Griffis, born August 5, 1958 in Borger, TX, passed away in his home of natural causes in Midwest City, OK on October 1, 2025. He was 67 years old.

Richard was preceded in death by father Col. Jim Jones and son Daniel. He is survived by children James and Tabitha, granddaughter Isis, mother Margo, siblings Mike, Pat, Bradford, Warren, Carl, Sandee, Rokki and Jimi.

Richard was a graduate of Midwest City High School, a veteran of the Oklahoma National Guard, worked as a maintenance technician, electrician, and asbestos removal. He was second to none at troubleshooting and fixing anything mechanical or electrical.

Affectionately known by many as PaPa Griff, he was renowned for his roguish nature, sharp wit, ribald and bawdy sense of humor as well as being fiercely protective of those that he loved. He was a foodie, an outstanding cook, a devoted fan of the Oklahoma Sooners Football and Softball teams, loved listening to music like Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, BABYMETAL, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles.

We will have a celebration of life in Richard’s memory at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd St. Oklahoma City, OK 73141
