"Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life
who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile & who
LOVE YOU no matter what."
Dick was the son of the late Pastor Frank and Sally Wagner. Dick was an amazing man who touched every person he ever met in a positive way. Family was the most important aspect throughout his life. Dick grew up traveling all over the country until his family settled in Midwest City, where he graduated from Midwest City High School and remained a true Bomber the rest of his life.
Dick served from 1964-1968 in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam. He was discharged a Sergeant in 1968 and returned home to wife Betty in Oceanside, California. His career was at Tinker Air Force Base where he worked for 36 years as an electroplater and in water treatment traveling TDY with engineers to promote more work for Tinker.
Dick was very community orientated; he loved the Midwest City High School Bombers Football Team, and served as a member of the Football Team Official Chain Gang for 37 years. He enjoyed watching and attending OU football games, traveling, camping and cooking on the grill for his family. As a teenager, Dick worked for a farmer and loved riding a tractor. His brother-in-law, Marshall provided him with a job that let him be a farmer again. He loved this work; riding a tractor, feeding cattle and fixing all the things that Marshall needed fixed.
Dick married Betty Haby in November of 1964 in Oceanside, California. The Lord blessed them with two children, Darrell and Cindy. These children were the sunshine of his life. He was a loving and devoted father from the day they were born. He always supported them in all of their various activities as they were growing up, rarely missing anything. After a 25 year marriage he continued to love and remain a part of her family. He always had a special place in his heart for Betty and never missed sending her a mother’s day card.
He is survived by his son Darrell and his loving wife Cheri Wagner of Moore, Oklahoma, his granddaughter Kelsie Folsom of Moore, Oklahoma and his daughter Cindy and her loving husband Gary Clem, United States Navy, Retired, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Dick married Mary Hudgins Crha in 1991. In this union he inherited her two adult children. At the time of the union Denise and Jarold were in desperate need of a loving and involved father. Dick immediately became that man; their dad and accepted them as his children. The Lord blessed them with Dick and finally they knew what it really meant to be truly loved and accepted by a dad. Denise and Jarold want to express how much Dick gave of himself to them, changing their lives by showing them unconditional love and by example of how to be a better parent and human being. They are forever grateful for having Dick in their lives. Dick became an instant Grandpa to Denise's daughter, Cassie and to Jarold's daughter, Anne. He loved those girls! Dick was happy to become Grandpa of the next three grandchildren born to his family, Denise's daughters Myranda & Kaylee and Jarold's son Phillip.
In 1997, Cassie was diagnosed with cancer. He was the rock of his family during her nearly four year battle. When Cassie passed in 2001, even though he was also heartbroken, he was always there for his family. He was the strength of the family and somehow kept them going.
Dick is survived by his loving and devoted wife Mary Crha Wagner of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, his daughter Denise Hendon of Midwest City, Oklahoma, his granddaughters Kaylee Hendon of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Myranda and her loving husband ET3 Brandon Faulkner, United States Navy, of Mayport, Florida, his son Jarold Crha of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, his grandchildren Phillip Crha of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma and Anne Crha of Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Dick was an incredibly devoted and loving husband to Mary, a loving supportive father to his children and the best Grandpa that ever walked the earth to his 6 grandchildren, who loved him so very much!
Dick was very proud of his children and the way that they lived their lives. In turn, Dick’s children loved, cherished and respected the man that was their dad.
Richard Wagner will be missed by all who loved him!!
