Robert Scott Downing, beloved son of Arch Bryant Downing and Mary Ann Cargill Blunt, went to heaven to join his grandparents on March 18, 2012. He was born on February 27, 1958, in Oklahoma City. Scott had a zest for life but did not ask for much, always content with a place to stay and a good meal. Growing up, he spent some of his best days in Kansas with his grandparents and loved "cookouts on the Casey" with his family at the farm near Deer Creek. As an adult, he loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed movies and especially the opportunities he had to go flying. He spent many weekends at the lake, swimming and riding on the boat. Scott had a joyous sense of humor that brightened up the mood of anyone he was with. His infectious laugh and bright spirit will be greatly missed.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his father, mother, brother, Steve Downing, half-brother, Jimmy Blunt, half-sister, Patricia Blunt, and his nephews Mike and Scott Downing. Services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012, at the Hahn-Cook Chapel at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
