

Robert Spencer (Bob) O'Neale, Sr., of Oklahoma City, OK, died March 24, 2010, in Integris Baptist Hospital after a long illness; he was 88 years old. Born in Haviland, KS, February 4, 1922, to Wiley and Mary O'Neale, Bob spent most of his growing up years in Arkansas City, KS. Bob was energetic and resourceful; those qualities coupled with an ambition to succeed led to a very successful career with Santa Fe Rw Co. He served in communities in OK, MO, CO, and KS before he retired as Regional Freight Sales Manager in OK City in 1985 after 44.5 years of service. Bob was an avid golfer; an intense Bridge player and a competitive bowler but more importantly he was a friend to all and a fine Christian man whose faith was an inspiration to many who knew him. He served his community in much the same way he led his life, helping others from within organizations such as VITA, Rotary, Deacons, Traffic Club, First Baptist Church OK City and others. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Julia "Judy"; his son Robert S., Jr and wife Patricia; his daughter Patricia Parrott and husband Neil; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Monday, March 29, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hahn-Cook Funeral Home, 6600 Broadway Extension. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in the chapel of First Baptist Church, OK City followed by a graveside service at Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations may be made to The Salvation Army or to the Legacy Memorial Fund of First Baptist Church.
