Blessings and condolences to Robert's family.  He was my colleague at Wylie High, my son's mentor in becoming a history professor, and my daughter's inspiration to realize how much influence she has in her own classroom.  A true gentleman, Robert will be missed by everyone who was blessed to hear his "Greetings and salutations!"

Coach Wyskup taught us at such a high level.  I admired his consistency and calmness.  If there is a constitution in heaven I know he is auditing it for everyone's benefit.

I was a student of coach wyskup in 88-89, I really enjoyed his class.  He touched my life and he will be missed.

Great teacher, coach and human being.  Exceptionally high standards for himself and his students.  It served him and all of us well. He was one of those rare teachers that did more than teach you about history and government.  He helped prepare students for life.  Certainly a unique individual that taught us to do some things "only if it essential to your well being."

So long Robert for we have the blessed hope in Jesus we will see you again.You made me feel welcome to the family from the first time we met. You were so kind and giving to everyone in the  family.  I am so thankful you got to see our beautiful mountain view.You will be missed so much.

I have such great childhood memories of Uncle Robert, and all my Uncles. Where would I begin - Sooner Football, Fireworks, back yard gardening, fishing at Shawnee lake, golf at MWC Municipal, tennis at Regional Park, hunting at "the farm", driving me to work at the zoo. In some way, he helped shape the type of person Lisa and I are today. I always knew of his life/work at Wylie HS, but it is so wonderful to see how he influenced so many lives. Very sad he has left us so early, he will always be in my memories.

I was in his first classes at WHS, and we had never been called Mr.and Miss before. He treated everyone with such respect, and we of course treated and respected him the same way. He was so funny..such a dry wit. He was indeed one of the best teachers I had at WHS. May "The Eyes of Texas" be on you Mr. Wyskup, as you enter the pearly gates.

It's no small thing to dedicate your life to the education of others. Thank you for your years of service to the Wylie Community. Even though we were all "Texas savages" we knew you loved our school. My Dad, Red Benson, was talking about the Wylie v. Farmersville basketball game, I believe in the 70's, where you were the time keeper. Your ruling on a final shot clock cleared the stands and several people were suspended including the principal of Farmsville. Your wit and humor were unexpected. But little did we know that you would be one of our most memorable teachers. We repeat your sayings because it made an impression on us. You gave us a glimpse into what college was going to be like. Thank you Mr. Wyskup for expecting more from us. Rest in eternal peace.

Coach Wyskup was one of the best.  Attending his classes at Wylie High School helped prepare me for the coursework I would complete in college.  Sending condolences and prayers to the family.

So nice to read the wonderful tributes from former colleagues and students.  I was blessed to have Robert as an uncle and a godfather.  I will miss him terribly.  He was a wise and wonderful man.

Uncle Robert, you were one of the kindest and most gentle souls I've ever known. I will miss your yearly Charlie Brown Christmas card which made the kids smile. Tell your little sister, my mom, we miss her dearly. Love always,

I frequently use ‘Wyskupisms' with my student teachers and tell stories about him and other fine WISD teachers to illustrate exemplary practice. His consistency made me feel safe.  I always knew the rules and expectations. I never cross the TX/OK border without thinking of him. And I have a sure cure for hiccups. Great memories of a great man!

Coach Wyskup had a positive influence on many, many people. He lives on through those of us who were privileged enough to have experienced him in true form in his classroom. Go with God, Coach Wyskup. You left us many fond memories.

Mr. Wyskup would let us guess the score of the football game and if you got it right, you could skip an assignment.  I got it correct, but then he told me to remember that when he graded or work folders that the skipped assignment needed to be there.   I guess I was one of the "Texas Savages That Needed To Be Tamed."   I enjoyed him as a Coach that wore Coaching Shorts no matter how cold Freshman Football practice was and for a very interesting Senior year as our teacher in Government.

Loved his sense of humor and our many discussions on education, sports, and nature, especially on those Friday night road trips scouting for that Wylie Pirate football team. He will be missed.

Mr. Wyskup was not only one of the best teachers I've ever known, but I was fortunate enough to be one of his colleagues as well after I graduated from WHS then began my 20 year teaching career 2 doors down from him. To this day, I base my teaching style on what I learned from interacting with him. He was always the first one to give when someone was in need, and he did it quietly and anonymously. He helped far many more people than we know, including every student I've ever taught. I'm grateful to have had him for role model and a friend.

Thank you for being a great teacher and role model.

Thank you Mr Wyskup for your passion in teaching and for your continuing influence on my own teaching career.   You will be missed.

Best Civics teacher ever!  I'll never forget him teaching us that "education is the foundation to democracy".  He was an inspiration!

Mr. Wyskup was the BEST teacher I've ever had! He made me love civics and history. He was funny and kind. He will be missed! Rest in peace coach!

Mr. Wyskup was one of the most honorable, respected, learned, and professional teachers I have ever known. It was an honor to teach with him. I enjoyed our conversations and his witty and unique outlook on situations and people. His students coined his unique comments as Wyskupisms and quoted him regularly. He was a favorite at WHS. Please know that Mr. Wyskup will always
be remembered by those fortunate enough to know him.

Give our salutations to Heaven,  Coach  Wyskup!!  Thank you for having such a huge impact on so many lives.  The world has lost a great man but Heaven has gained a magnificent angel.  May you eternally rest in glorious peace.

I admired Mr Wyskup as a teacher, friend, and honorable human being.  He was a good, good man. And, what few of his students knew, he had a razor sharp, dry wit. It is an honor to have known him.
