Robin G. Varughese

“.. I am of good courage and I would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord”. II Cor 5:8

Mr. Robin G. Varughese was born to Rev. Potha and Annie Varughese on February 27, 1974 in Kallissery, Kerala, India. At 3 months old, he moved with his parents to Switzerland, and then at 18 months old, moved again to the Unites States. Robin accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age, and thereafter took the believers baptism. The Lord filled him with His Holy Spirit, and ever since he had been worshipping the Lord in spirit and truth. Growing up as part of a pastor’s family, he was raised in Christian discipline and biblical virtues.

Robin grew up as an active youth in India Pentecostal Church (IPF), which later merged as IPC Hebron, Oklahoma.

Robin graduated high school as an honor student, and though reserved, was described by his teachers and friends as very intelligent. He has interests in physics, as well as literature, and for some time dreamed of one day having a career in space aeronautics. In fact, he often would tutor other students and enjoyed spending time reading advanced literature. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and sharing his sense of humor. After beginning college, Robin decided to pursue his interest in Forensic Science.

Towards the end of 1997, he began to have difficulties in his health, but still endured without complaint. His endurance of hardship as his condition worsened was with grace and strength, which encouraged others. He never complained about any pain or sufferings while still helping others. He was especially thankful for those who would come to pray for him, or took him to prayer meetings when he was wheelchair bound.

His condition continued to worsen over the years, and though continuing to pray for healing, became bedridden for the next 10 years. His parents took great care to make sure not only his medical needs were met, but that he was also encouraged daily in his spiritual and emotional needs.

He is survived by both his parents, Rev. Potha and Annie Varughese, his sister Elsa Vadakekut and her husband Sam Vadakekut, their 3 children (Mariah, Rebekah and Ethan), and his Grandmother (Mariamma George).

His favorite song was “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”. He enjoyed classical music, jazz and readings. His favorite scripture quotation was “Delight thyself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart…. He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms 37:4

We, his family and friends, miss our dear Robin. Let the blessed hope in the Lord comfort us in this sorrowful situation.
