Rod Moody passed away suddenly on the evening of January 6, 2014. He was born May 14, 1958 in Elk City, OK to Gladys and Clarence Moody, Jr. He was an all-star athlete at Altus High School and then attended Cameron University on a golf scholarship. He worked for many years for United Supermarket before returning to school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he played on the golf team and made many life-long friends. Rod was a talented athlete and avid sportsman. He was widely known throughout the golfing community for his exceptional skills. He always said he was a “jack of all trades and a master of none.” But that wasn’t true. He excelled at everything he did whether it was golf, basketball, hunting, fishing, gardening or cooking. He was a successful salesman and worked for many years in the office supply and equipment business. His greatest joy arrived when his daughter Dallace was born in 1989. She was the apple of his eye and filled his life with so much happiness. Rod married the love of his life, Dixie, on February 20, 1999. They shared many happy years together enjoying Lake Texoma, OU football, traveling, cooking, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Clarence. Rod is survived by his mother, Gladys; wife, Dixie; daughter, Dallace; sister, Kathy and Don Bonds; niece and nephews Lara and David Morgan; Kyle and Kristee Bonds; Kerry and Crystal Bonds; great nephews, Wyatt, Kody and Ethan; great nieces Kelsey, Karlie and Lyndley; his constant companion Roxy; along with an abundance of treasured friends.
