

Sammy Lou Eagy, 87, of Midwest City, died Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital South, Oklahoma City, OK. The daughter of Col. Burlin S. and Freda Pearl (Mose) Bennett, was born December 19, 1934 in Tulsa, OK.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, San Antonio, TX at the age of 16 and obtained her BSN from Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, TX at age 19.
After graduating as a registered nurse, she worked and lived in Michigan, Arizona, California, before returning to Midwest City, Oklahoma.
She retired from nursing after 35 years of service, with the last 25 years at the Oklahoma City County Health Department.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and all types of arts and crafts, most of which she donated to Hospice, nursing homes, and the Humane Society.
Sammy was also known as a huge animal lover/rescuer for which she had numerous animals over her lifetime.
Sammy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons, John Eagy and wife Cheryl of AZ.; James Rodriguez and wife Sherri of WA.; daughters, Michelle Bassett of IA.; Denise Jackson of TN.; grandsons Christopher Shelby and Brian Bassett of IA.; granddaughter Jessica Jackson of TN.; brother Dr. James Bennett and wife Margarita; nephews Dr. Jay Bennett and Rick Bennett and niece Danielle Wellstead; cousin Maxine (Billie) Hemphill and best friends Joan Jamison and Wanda Burns.
A viewing/visitation for Sammy will be held on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Funeral services will occur Thursday, November 17th, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home with burial to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd, OKC, OK. 73141.
